London Day 7... June 1st

Day 7...

Salisbury Cathedral
Main floor
Today was the LONGEST day... We had to be up at 5:30 am in order to be downstairs and ready by 6:40 am... 4 girls in one room that early in the morning is not the most fun... But we caught the tube to the train and were all able to sleep there for our hour long journey to Salisbury...

As high as you can go
Salisbury Cathedral
332 steps
We visited the Salisbury Cathedral first, which is the tallest cathedral in Europe, and climbed up as high as we could into the cathedral... 332 steps (yes, I counted... I even know what number each level was at!!!) It had flying buttresses, stained glass windows, and spiral staircases going up the side towers. We had two separate tour guides, one for the towers and another for the main Cathedral part, both had amazingly cool British accents and tried cracking jokes (tried being the key word :)

The Wilton House
Courtyard

The Wilton House was much smaller than expected, and again no pictures inside aloud… We had our own personal tour guide that took us around to almost every room available… Every room was really big on paintings of the people of the house… The tour guide lady was also claiming that there was a lot of Chippendale furniture, although I am pretty sure there was not near as much as she was saying… The outside of the house was beautiful. It has a large field, playground on the side, and a large bridge over the river…
Stonehenge

Entire Study Abroad group
Stonehenge

Finally we went to Stonehenge!!! It was amazing J The stones all look a lot smaller in person then on pictures, although we really weren’t able to get very close. They have commentary there for everyone to listen to the story of Stonehenge, but it started feeling like a history lesson, so I didn’t really listen to it for very long… As a group we look many pictures doing random things, and I am sure people around thought we were crazy!!!
Today was by far the longest… up at 530 am to leave by 630 am and back at 8 pm… Long needed sleep is required!!!
